HKKMF

The HK Knowledge Management Forum is an independent, non-profit organisation and engages inadvocacy of areas such as knowledge economy, intellectual capital, innovation, knowledge management across different sectors in the society.

The HK KM Forum was founded in 1998 by Waltraut Ritter as one of the results of a pilot study on Knowledge Management in Hong Kong, which she conducted for the Poon Kam Kai Institute of Management at the Business School of Hong Kong. The study was funded by the Arthur Samy Memorial Fund managed by HSBC Trustee and was the first study on KM in Hong Kong. The Forum started as an informal exchange between professionals interested in KM and has been influential in growing the awareness for knowledge management in the business community of Hong Kong and beyond. In 2001, the more business-related HK KM Society was formed by some of the stakeholders of the Forum.

Since 1999, the Forum organises the Annual Asia Pacific KM Conference, which is a key event on latest developments and trends in the region, and every year takes on different and wide-ranging topics relating to managing in the knowledge economy.

HKKMF is connected to similar networks, research centres and association throughout the Asia Pacific region, and worldwide. It operates thanks to private donations and receives sponsorships and participation fees for events.
